Apis Engineering’s Queen Vault is the finest queen storage system available. It solves many of the problems with the currently offered systems
1. Our Queen Vault has a solid wall for the queen to retreat. The systems that are mesh all the way around don’t offer any place for the queen to hide from antagonistic bees on the outside of the cage and many queens get their tarsi chewed off, rendering them useless.
2. Many queens are damaged by the beekeeper when handling the all -mesh style cage. Touching the mesh may cause damage to the tarsi. Our cage has a dished screen so that inadvertent contact can’t happen.
3. The included candy adapter allows the beekeeper to install either a candy tube or just fill it with your own candy. This is for slow release of the queen in her adopted colony.
4. A standard plastic queen cell cup will fit in the top of the queen vault for virgin queen emergence.
5. Two queen vault frames installed in a Premier brand wooden frame offer superior acceptance of the queens by the banking colony. With two frames installed 48 queens can be banked by a single colony.
6. The mesh screen front is epoxy coated steel for rust free use and it cut using a fiber laser for precision. But the best feature is the screen can be removed and cleaned As well as the inside of the vault. Mild soap and warm water with a later cleansing with ethanol will ensure that no diseases are transferred.
6. Finally, two incubator frames are included for those who prefer an incubator. Our incubator frames allow for queen inspection of all frames simultaneously. Others manufacturers incubator frames block the view of the cages on the inside rows.
